Opportunity

In 2011, commercial fleet decarbonization and advanced vehicle technology were fragmented across regional meetings and niche industry gatherings. There was no single forum where fleets, OEMs, infrastructure providers, utilities, policymakers, and technology leaders could align around real-world deployment. TRC (then GNA) identified the gap and launched the Advanced Clean Transportation Expo.

Fifteen years later, ACT Expo is widely regarded as the most important commercial transportation event of the year and North America’s largest fleet technology convening—what Daimler Truck CEO John O’Leary calls “The Show” and FreightWaves dubbed “the Super Bowl of commercial vehicle shows.” What began as a clean transportation conference has evolved into the industry’s primary marketplace for vehicle, infrastructure, energy, and digital investment decisions.

TRC produces every aspect: marketing, media hosting, conference programming, expo hall operations, and year-round content through ACT News.

Approach

Fill the Expo Hall with Fleets That Buy

ACT Expo was designed around one principle: attract fleets that buy.

Today, more than 2,000 fleet operators attend annually, representing billions in vehicle and infrastructure procurement. Targeted audience development campaigns focus on high-volume sectors including long-haul, drayage, regional distribution, refuse, transit, school transportation, utilities, and public agencies.

The result is one of the highest buyer-to-exhibitor ratios in the industry, creating a show floor where real purchasing conversations happen.

Host the Industry’s Media Week

ACT Expo functions as North America’s largest commercial transportation media week.

TRC manages media operations for 120+ journalists and digital content creators, coordinating three days of exhibitor press conferences and product launches. Major OEMs and technology companies routinely unveil new vehicles, charging platforms, hydrogen deployments, and autonomous milestones on the ACT Expo show floor.

Annual outcomes include:

  • 880+ unique articles
  • 1.7+ billion media impressions across trade, business, and mainstream outlets

Curate C-Suite Leadership

ACT Expo convenes one of the highest concentrations of executive leadership in commercial transportation. Past keynotes include C-Suite leaders from Daimler Truck, Volvo, Amazon, FedEx, JB Hunt, UPS, among others.

The conference features 300+ speakers across four days, including CEOs, Presidents, CIOs, fleet executives, regulators, and infrastructure leaders shaping the next decade of mobility investment. Topics span battery electric, hydrogen, autonomous, AI/telematics, renewable fuels, charging infrastructure, and grant funding. Continuing education credits are available through CAFM® and GBCI®, reinforcing the event’s operational credibility.

Deliver the Industry’s Most Dynamic Show Floor

ACT Expo hosts 500+ exhibitors and sponsors and 200+ advanced commercial vehicles on display, including Class 8 tractors, delivery vans, yard trucks, refuse vehicles, buses, charging systems, and hydrogen infrastructure.

The expo hall footprint has doubled since 2023 to accommodate growth, expanding from Long Beach to Anaheim and now Las Vegas.

Facilitate a Two-Day Ride & Drive

The ACT Expo Ride & Drive gives attendees the opportunity to get behind the wheel and experience the latest commercial vehicle technologies firsthand. Participants can test a range of advanced vehicles and see how different powertrains, features, and technologies perform in real-world driving conditions. It is a hands-on complement to the vehicles and solutions showcased throughout the exhibit hall, helping fleet operators move beyond product specifications and better understand the driver experience and operational potential. The Ride & Drive is one of several immersive elements that make ACT Expo a comprehensive venue for evaluating the technologies shaping commercial transportation.

Results

In 2024, ACT Expo won two Trade Show Executive Gold 100 Awards: Fastest Growing Transportation Show and Greatest Ascent. Growth has been relentless: 5,200 attendees in 2021, 8,500 in 2022, 11,000 in 2023, and 12,000+ in 2025. The show has grown 40% year-over-year while expanding from Long Beach to Anaheim to Las Vegas to accommodate demand.
